Church Blues, Blunders and Transfers

Is your church giving you the blues?

It appears that now there is more game than “Spiritual Growth” in many of our churches. How long do you stay in a church that is no longer meeting your needs? Is it appropriate to tell your Pastor that he/she is no longer relevant or effective as your leader? Do you stay in a church, where you are no longer happy, because it is what your mother taught you to do? Can you outgrow your church membership? I will provide you an answer to the above questions, right now.

  1. How long do you stay in a church that no longer meets your needs? You should leave, not hastily, but after praying and fasting (if you desire).  Do not stay in any type of relationship where you are unhappy.
  2. Is it appropriate to tell your Pastor that he/she is no longer relevant as your leader? It is NOT appropriate to tell your Pastor that he/she is not relevant or effective as your leader.  Hopefully, the deacons and trustees will have consistent dialogue with the leader.  If not, run like hell!
  3. Do you stay in a church where you are no longer happy, because it is what your mother taught you to do? No; live your life and just move on! It is NOT a good idea to stay in any ineffective relationship or deal.
  4. Can you outgrow your church membership? Yes You Can! This is the sad truth because many Pastors fail to challenge themselves and stay relevant. Yes that’s right, they don’t study.

I hope that this brief synopsis has been helpful for you. However, check out several new churches before making a new church home. Enough Said!
