QOTD: Would You Let A Porn Star Read To Your First-Grader?

Sasha Grey, a former porn star, is under fire after parents became outraged that she read a book to first and third grade students at Emerson Elementary School in Compton, California earlier this month, for Read Across America day.

Parents are upset and school officials aren’t even confirming her presence at the school.

Grey hasn’t backed down and had this to say:

“I committed to this program with the understanding that people would have their own opinions about what I have done, who I am and what I represent.” “I am an actor. I am an artist. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a partner. I have a past that some people may not agree with, but it does not define who I am… I believe in the future of our children, and I will remain an active supporter and participant in education-focused initiatives.”  via TMZ

Miss Grey recently retired from the sex industry and is focusing on changing the direction of her life. Considering that most first and third graders would hopefully not have seen Miss Grey in action…is there cause for uproar?

It’s not like she attended the school’s career fair….
