Holiday Tips to Help You Get Through Thanksgiving

It’s that time of year again. The season of Thanksgiving is upon us and Christmas is right around the corner. Now is the time for friends and family to get together, get out before daybreak for those “Black Friday” deals, and eat until your stomach explodes! One of the reasons I love the holidays so much is because they naturally bring people together. It’s a warmth that you feel during this time of year that you just don’t get in any other season. With all the hustle and bustle happening right now, I’m sure everyone has tons and tons to do right about now and I’m sure some of you could use some extra help. No, I can’t mail myself to your house and become your personal assistant, but I can however offer some words of wisdom to help make your holiday season a little easier.

1. If you you’re hosting the Thanksgiving meal this year, be sure to prepare or request a variety of foods that your guests can choose from. If you don’t know what your guests like, take a poll of what they’d like to see on the table. Nobody wants to come to a meal and leave hungry because they didn’t like the food.

2. When you have lots of people over, it’s harder to keep track of everything or everyone, i.e. “nosey” guests. If you don’t want people to go into certain areas of your house, be sure to close all the doors and shut off the lights. There still may be those bold few who decide to wonder but at least it will keep the traffic down.

3.Clean up! Conduct what I like to call a “company cleaning”. A “company cleaning” is when you do your normal cleaning routing times five, in addition to cleaning the things you don’t usually touch but your “company” will see.

These are just a few “tidbits” to help you out this year. Take heed to them, and your turkey day will run a lot smoother. At least in this aspect anyway!

Happy Thanksgiving!
