As women, we want to do right by our men. We want to see them happy just like they want to see us a happy. A good relationship should incorporate a “give and take” approach to ensure that both individuals receive an equal amount of love, respect and consideration. In layman’s terms, do what it takes to take care of each other.

There are enough man bashing outlets and forums in society today to go around the Earth twice. Books, social groups, talk shows, friends, family and the internet are all used to discuss the no good, dirty rotten men in our lives and how to get rid and or deal with them. But what about the good guys? The ones that take care of their families, pay bills on time and are building bright futures? If you love your guy, don’t just tell him, show him!  Yahoo! Shine has provided a few examples of how women can show their love outside of those three little words.

Taking Care of Yourself
Shedding stress, eating right, exercising, quitting smoking and even pampering yourself may sound like treats for you, but they’re also ways to show you love him. “This communicates, ‘I want to have a long, wonderful life with you, and I’ll do whatever it takes to prevent you from experiencing the grief of losing someone,'” says marriage therapist Mike Dow, PsyD. What better motivation is there to get healthy?

Encouraging Him to Take Time for Himself
While you may not hesitate to ask for you time, your husband may have trouble verbalizing what he needs. Occasionally, suggest he take a day to relax with friends, play video games, work on the car or just sleep in. “This shows support and allows him the freedom to do what he needs to be his best self,” says  clinical psychologist Andra Brosh, PhD h. Your husband will see hassle-free, worry-free, chore-free time as a loving reward.

Shine also suggested that other ways to show your love for that hubby or boyfriend are to compliment him, ask him for advice or simply allowing him to vent his problems out to you.

I think its safe to say that the Golden Rule applies here. “Treat others how you would want to be treated”. These things may seem like they’re exclusive to women like wanting our guy to talk to or compliment us, but sometimes they desire the same thing. Try them out and see for yourself!
