PLEDGE PINK FOR THE CURE!

Have you been checked yet? We’re only twelve days into National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so there’s still plenty of time to start your regular mammogram check-ups, consult your doctor about prevention and find a cause to support finding the cure to one of the leading causes of death in women.

I’d like to encourage my readers to action in the fight against breast cancer by deciding to “Pledge Pink”! Here’s a little did you know tidbit. National Breast Cancer.Org reported that “breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women and each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die”. That means that over 40,000 mothers, grandmothers, sisters, cousins, aunts and friends will lose their fight against breast cancer and that many more pink ribbons will be worn in their honor. I know those numbers may put a downer on things but there is something we can do to help; PLEDGE PINK! 938482c3e46f79c677b547450bb1e37a_screen

Around this time every year, it’s not hard to find an organization that’s raising money for this particular cause. Just visit any grocery store, shopping center, church etc. and you’ll see the designated pink ribbon give-a-way and donation table. However in this case, students apart of Fort Valley State University’s Psychology Club, have decided to ban together and raise awareness on their campus and surrounding communities. Until October 31, the club is asking everyone that will to donate a least a dollar pledge for the cure of breast cancer. Eight-five percent of all proceeds made during their endeavor will go directly to Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could help cut that 40,000 death toll in half?

So, spread the word all month long! BE the change, help find a cure and PLEDGE PINK! Click here to make a donation today!
