Another loss for Bishop Eddie Long.

After 18 years the Bishop is closing New Birth Christian Academy.

The school enrolls student from kindergarten to 12th grade and is located on the campus of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.

Tuition at the school ranged from $5,725 for New Birth members to just over $6,000 for non-members with more than $1,000 in non-refundable fees, according to the academy’s website.

The school founded by Long, has been facing financial trouble and decreasing enrollment for a few years.

Parents received letters right before Christmas that the school would close January 4th.

New Birth officials said: “will do everything within our power to reopen the school at some point in the near future.” The letter also stated the staff at New Birth will help students and parents find a new school.

I’m sure that the “decreasing enrollment” was in light of all the scandals that Long suffered this past year.
