As we witnessed the historical philosophical statement from President Barack Obama on yesterday, as it relates to his stand on gay marriage and the simply understanding of “EQAULITY FOR ALL”…… I ask myself, Are WE There Yet?

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. explains in his book “Strength to Love”, we must understand “In his magnanimous love, God freely offers to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. Our humble and openhearted acceptance is faith. So by faith we are saved. Man filled with God and God operating through man bring unbelievable changes in our individual and social lives.”  We often rely in life on biblical terms in the sense of how one should live their lives freely. However, we are also guilty of the sense of reasoning when it comes to selective reading, selective hearing, and selective feelings. In the root of all human rights, we must remember that love and respect over shadows all sense of debate over civil rights, civil unions, human rights, women’s rights, minority rights, professional rights, and most of all religious rights.

As we sit down to debate whether or not gays should be allowed to marry whomever they please I ask myself again, “Are We There Yet”. We stand behind individuals who get in pulpits every single day who opposes gay rights but we find more and more each day how some of those same individuals are the ones putting on a façade of living the exact lifestyle of homosexuality. Will America allow selective readings from these individuals to dictate how one should live their life?

Let’s talk about what we often forget! Do you think you can evolve and realize EQAULITY FOR ALL!

Sex: The next time the thought of sex runs through your mind or the blood rushes to your genitals remember this, “Genesis 38:9-10: “Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so when he went in to his brother’s wife, he wasted his seed on the ground in order not to give offspring to his brother. But what he did was displeasing in the sight of the Lord; so He took his life also.”

Deuteronomy 22:20-21 states: But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father’s house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you “…………Are You There Yet?

Tattoos: Well, remember the tattoo that is on your body from the lover you are no longer with because he/she cheated on you with your best friend, “ Leviticus 19:28 reads, “You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the Lord.” …………Are You There Yet?

Divorce: Remember the fancy wedding you made your parents spend all of their retirement on and you made a religious vow to stay together remember this “The Bible is very clear on this one: No divorcing. You can’t do it. Because when you marry someone, according to Mark 10:8, you “are no longer two, but one flesh.” And, Mark 10:9 reads, “What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”…… …………Are You There Yet?

Shellfish: I know this is you and you are there now……remember what you ate for dinner last night or at your cousin’s fish fry, Remember this “Leviticus 11:10 reads, “But whatever is in the seas and in the rivers that does not have fins and scales among all the teeming life of the water, and among all the living creatures that are in the water, they are detestable things to you.” …………Are You There Yet?

Gossiping: Hmmmm, well maybe all of the other ones were not about you but hmmmm let’s see……..Remember when you spoke about your co-worker, your in-laws or someone you really didn’t know. Well, Leviticus 19:16 states:
Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the LORD. …………Are You There Yet?

Marriage: Mark 10:11-12 states: Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

Working on Sundays:

Exodus 31:14-15 states: Everyone is guilty of this even preachers/priest those of religious views who charge fees to do revivals and other funcitons….. “Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. …………Are You There Yet?

Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

Women In The Church:  Last but not least….. Do we still believe women must submit to their husbands….. Remember the song by Destiny’s Child….. “Independent” …… 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 states: Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church…….…………Are You There Yet?
