Our Atlanta housewives have been going through lately. Porsha is still trying to get from under Kordell’s thumb, Kenya had until yesterday to respond to her eviction notice and now we learn that Kim is an unfit mother as she smokes cigarettes while pregnant with her fifth child.
While on vacation in Florida, Kim Zolciak can be seen with a bulging belly and cigarette in hand. HEY KIM, EVER HEARD OF THE SURGEON GENERAL’S WARNING? Ya know, that little label on your pack of cigs that tells you about all the bad stuff cigarettes can do to you? According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, smoking can cause birth defects and low birth weight in addition to the regular dangers such as cancer and heart defects.
As reported by the CDC:
- Smoking can cause problems with the placenta
—the source of the baby’s food and oxygen during pregnancy. For example, the placenta can separate from the womb too early, causing bleeding, which is dangerous to the mother and baby.
- Smoking during and after pregnancy is a risk factor of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). SIDS is an infant death for which a cause of the death cannot be found.
- Babies born to women who smoke are more likely to have certain birth defects, like a cleft lip or cleft palate.
Kim, 35 (supposedly) is really pushing em out with two kids by husband Kroy, in less then two years and another on the way. She officially retired her run on the Real Housewives of Atlanta last season in exchange for her own spin-off series, “Don’t be Tardy” but lately it seems that her job has consisted of getting pregnant every year, and this time it’s rumored to be twins.
During her days on the show, Kim was known for making excuses as to why she couldn’t do certain things, which was amplified by her frenemy NeNe on multiple occasions. I wonder what her excuse is as to why she couldn’t put the cigarette down or if she smoked while pregnant with all her kids? Hmmmm.
