Floyd Mayweather: All Lives Matter, Kapernick Needs to Stand Up”

Floyd Mayweather: All lives matter, Kapernick needs to stand Up…”

Our favorite Heavyweight Champion of the world, Moneyteam Floyd Mayweather has disappointed a great number of his fans. Black social media, including a few celebrities, took to their profiles to comment on Floyd’s proud display of insensitivity towards the Black Lives Matter movement. In a recent interview with The Boxing Voice, Mayweather makes some surprising comments about the tense racial relations in America including police brutality.

He stated,

“A lot of times we get stuck, and we are followers. You hear one person say, Black lives matter or blue lives matter, all lives matter.”

“..follow directions and folllow order. Don’t give nobody a hard time..with me being a fighter, and my hands registered. If I hit a guy for breaking in my house…it’s going to cost me more money.Im gonna call the cops.”

“Kapernick needs to..stand up and get the starting job. That’s what he needs to focus on… He’s got the number one selling jersey, so it’ obvious he’s doing something right. “

“...we need to follow directions.”

The words are kind of baffling and incomprehensive. It is unclear if Mayweather thinks race is irrelavant or if police brutality is tolerable? I’m not sure if he’s saying some battles aren’t worth fighting or money is the motive. Can someone help me out?

Either way, people are upset!

Atlanta rap artist T.I. took to his Instagram to make the powerful response:

It’s very disheartening to see Mayweather convey any time of ambiguous , oblivious, or subtle disregard of for the injustices that Black Americans face. His fame is without a doubt a result of the Black community.

What do you think? Will Mayweather clear this up?

I hope so!
