“I can not get the sound of his voice out of my head!”

“I can not forget the smell of his cologne!”

“I can not forget the way he made me cry many nights when I drove in his car on the way home!”

“I am not able to take enough showers to wipe the smell of his body off of me!”

This was simply devastating.  Jamal Parris broke the silence and stated, “we were a slave to a man that we loved.” He reported to FOX 5 that when he was fourteen, this man of God told him to trust him and call him “Daddy.” After he became of age the relationship became more intense and more inappropriate. What started all of this per Jamal, “he turned his back on us and had no more need (sexually) for us.” The young man then stated,” this would make Pastor Long a predator.”

Church: where do we go now? Do we continue to pray for the Bishop and not the young men? Did Pastor Jasper Williams call for the preachers to pray for the young men? By the way, just what is Atlanta praying for, a revival or cover up? I am baffled and confused, but I do know one thing: something smells rotten. Pandora’s Box is now WIDE open.

My heartfelt apologies to the young men. A concerned parent called me and advised that I had “thrown the young brothers under the bus”, which made me feel a little bad. I am just worried about the reputation of the Black church. At the end of the day, we will never be the same because there are no winners in this battle.  The Atlanta church community has forever changed. Many are turning away from the church, so, Brothers and Sisters, where do we go from here…?
