After releasing three different statements to the media, it seems that Vanessa Long has finally made up her mind.

After 21 years the wife of Bishop Eddie Long has decided to go through with the divorce.

“Mrs. Long continues to hope that this matter may be resolved expeditiously, harmoniously and fairly; however, she has determined that dismissal of her divorce petition is not appropriate at this time,” Kilpatrick Townsend partner Michael W. Tyler said in a prepared statement.

“To avoid any undue confusion, Mrs. Long’s future statements, if any, will be issued through her attorneys,” he said. A spokesman for Kilpatrick Townsend refused further comment.

The divorce was first reported reneged on by a statement from New Birth Missionary Baptist Church’s PR firm. I’m wondering if she was also “coerced” into changing her mind, but later came to her senses.

Friday night Bishop Long remained delusional as he said,

“Vanessa is, and has always been, a loving, dedicated and committed wife and mother,”  “My love for her is deep and unwavering. It remains our sincere desire to continue working together in seeking God’s will in these circumstances.”

This will be the second divorce for the mega-church pastor; who has fallen out of grace since he settled a lawsuit – with the four five young men who accused him of coercing them into sexual acts with gifts and money.

I think the Bishop is learning that sometimes…it’s just not about money.

Especially since he’s shown his wife his…preference.
