There was a rumor that Black Men do not commit suicide. However, this is not true. It appears that this dilemma slipped in through the back doors of our communities. The increase has been > 200%. Suicide attempt is when death is not achieved, and suicide completion is when death is achieved.
Who: African-American males between 18-50 years old.
What: A new but old illness called “depression”.
How: The etiology ranges from lost hope, decreased wages, unemployment, and racism.
When: In the 21st Century
Where: Throughout the Diaspora
Results: More Black Men taking their lives pre-maturely.
