‘The Game’ Constantly Hits A Homerun…

The Game Is Proving To Be A Homerun...

As I predicted The Game has finally gotten its mojo back. After a few sketchy weeks of what seemed like a Black version of the Spanish soap opera Telenovelas, the cast has re-embraced their characters, the writers have toned down their outlandish story lines and the editors have made smart adjustments to what makes the final cut.  Overall, the show has potential to be as good as it was prior to its untimely departure 2 years ago.

Episode 4 highlights Malik’s ongoing battle with his addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs. Megan Good’s character Parker showed a glimmer of compassion when she confronted him about her husband, Malik’s boss’ plans to end his career. Tasha Mac, Malik’s mother is torn between her responsibility as a mother and Derwin’s manager, and Derwin is torn between his rising career and his dedication to his friend. In the end Malik took Parker’s advice and agreed to check into rehab.

Things to look forward to in upcoming episodes: the relationship between Malik and Parker. Derwin’s ongoing baby mama drama and finally, the ongoing feud between Malik and Titi who (in my opinion) was Malik’s most loyal friend, but after last week’s episode might want to release the dump truck size arsenal of dirt that he has on him.
