The domestic violence incident between Chris Brown and then girlfriend Rihanna will never be forgotten, ignored or completely over looked. Thousands of people endure domestic abuse every day but having a famous face involved with it means you’ll never live it down. Fans might have forgiven him and his music career may have picked back up BUT there’s always gonna be that one reporter, fan or person off the street that’s gonna say “remember that time you…”. Well, Chris seems to have fully absorbed this because according to The Huffington Post, Brown has threatened to retire after his “X” album comes out later  this month.

The Huffington Post reported that Brown took to Twitter to relinquish his feelings about his past. His tweets were as follows:

@chrisbrown Don’t worry mainstream America.After this X album, it’ll probably be my last album.

@chrisbrown Being famous is amazing when it’s for ur music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18. I’m cool & over it!

Huff Post also reported that some of other Brown’s other tweets stated that he doesn’t have to be a performer (very true, he’s well able to stop this very minute and be financially okay for the rest of his days) and sending out a more encouraging message to the public via Twitter with “Aspire to be great and the person you wanna be. Don’t conform because [your] worth is more than any money or status. We live. We die.”

I for one, am all for second chances. NO one is perfect and we all make mistakes. It just so happens that the whole country knows about this particular mistake on Chris’  part. He seems to have done all he could to redeem himself with hours of community service, public apologizes, losing/gaining back credibility, anger management, charity, probation and countless interviews that reiterate the incident over and over again but I guess his view on the public is that nothing will ever be enough to satisfy them. Will Chris undergo an early retirement to escape his past and public scrutiny?
